A lot of brands claim to be “fresh,” but are they really?

At Uncle Charley’s, we want to provide you and your family with the best food around. It should be good for your body and your taste buds. That’s why we’re committed to food that’s fresh, honest and delicious.

So, let’s talk about what it means to be fresh.

Fresh means never processed

First of all, fresh means never processed. So to truly understand what it means to be fresh, you need to understand what “processed meats” are. Processed meats have been cured, fermented, salted, smoked or put through another type of unnatural process. These processes are a means of prolonging the shelf life of the product.

At Uncle Charley’s, that’s not how we do things. All of our farmers are within driving distance to our plant. Every Uncle Charley’s product goes from the farm to your table in less than six days. We don’t need to use unnatural processes to preserve our products.

And we only use the highest quality, premium cuts of pork in our products for a richer taste. We hold our farmers to strict specifications so our meat is 80% lean. Uncle Charley’s sausages have less fat, and they just taste better!

Fresh means no unnatural additives

Processed meats are full of additives that artificially change the color, taste, and shelf life of food. Unnatural additives are the stuff we refuse to put in our products.

Uncle Charley’s has ZERO:

• Corn Syrup
• Nitrates
• Nitrites
• BHT
• BHA

Fresh means higher quality

Some of the other guys in the sausage industry use casings made of plastic. That’s not okay!

Uncle Charley’s only uses natural or collagen casings for our grillers. Some salt and water is all that’s used to clean and preserve them.

To spot natural casing on sausage, look for natural curves and sheen, with rounded ends. Natural casings will also allow your cooking flavors to permeate the meat, for a much tastier sausage.

Speaking of tasty sausage…each one of our sausages is packed with a blend of fresh, pungent spices. Our founder spent years perfecting the spices in our products, and it shows.
